The 2010 Youth Retreat is a time of worship and fun for high school students (entering grade 7-12) at Midnight Sun Bible Camp.

Consent and Waiver

By virtue of completing and submitting this registration form, you are acknowledging that you are the parent or legal guardian of the camper being registered. Furthermore, you covenant and agree that the Anchorage Church of Christ, 2700 DeBarr Road, Anchorage, Alaska, will not be responsible for any accidents in which my said child may become involved at the Youth Retreat, or in going to or returning therefrom. YOu hereby assume all responsibility for such accidents and any and all medical attention that may be necessary as a result thereof. You also acknowledge that you have read the camp rules and regulations and have discussed them with the registered camper. You further certify that the registered camper has read the camp rules and regulations and understands and agrees that they are reasonable and necessary for the success of the camp and agrees to abide by the rules of the camp.

RULES

The Camp Director, while under the authority of the eldership of the Anchorage Church of Christ, is, during a camp session, the final authority on all matters pertaining to policy and rules. He will be responsible for determining whether a camper is returned home due to illness, safety infractions, or failure to obey camp rules.

General Rules and Regulations

Campers must be entering grades 7-12.

At a minimum, parents and/or guardians and the elders of the Anchorage Church of Christ will be notified if any camper breaks the law, and the camper will immediately be sent home.

Chaperones shall be at least 21 years old.

Campers must submit a registration form with signed by parent or legal guardian and camper. No camper will be allowed to proceed to camp without this form completed and signed.

Individuals with special needs may attend camp if the camp staff is able to attend to those needs within their normal camp duties. The determination of whether or not the camp staff is capable of meeting those needs is the responsibility of the Camp Director.

Safety Rules

Safety is a primary concern at Midnight Sun Bible Camp.

Cabin campfires must be supervised at all times and extinguished properly before abandoning them.

Hiking on roads or trails will be done as a group of three or more with an adult present and the approval of the Camp Director.

No one, including staff, may be pushed or thrown into the lake.

Every individual will wear a properly fitted and fastened life jacket while participating in any boating activity.

No camper is permitted in or on boats except during supervised boating periods.

Swimming, boating, or any other water activity will be conducted with the presence of a staff member.

No horseplay or dangerous behavior is allowed in or near the water. No boat swamping, ramming, or any other dangerous behavior is allowed.

Dress shall be modest at all times. The following are specifically not permitted: Shorts and cut-offs above the knee (they must be to the knee), sleeveless, tank top, midriff, or low neckline shirts, clothing with inappropriate words or images, bikini-style swim wear (male or female), mid-section exposed, undergarments to be seen at any time.

The Camp Director is the final judge as to what is permitted and appropriate.

Jeans, shorts, cut-offs, dry suits, or wet suits are required for water activities.

Campers are expected to sleep in their assigned cabins and remain in their cabins after “lights out” each night.

Campers must remain with a supervised group at all times.

Off Limits for Campers

All boys and girls' cabins will be off limits unless permitted by the Camp Director for an activity.

Any area of the lake from which the "Hilton" cannot be seen.

The shores of property the camp does not own except with express permission of the property owner obtained by the camp director.

Public land with the exception of supervised water-skiing, supervised hikes, and canoe trips.

Not Allowed

Guns, fireworks, knives, tobacco products, alcohol, illegal drugs

Pranks or playing with fire

Electronic devices - including cell phones, Walkie-Talkies, games, iPods, MP3 players, PDA’s, comic books, or similar devices, except in the case of certain items, with the knowledge and specific approval of the Camp Director. Stand-alone cameras are allowed as long as they’re not part of other devices, such as a camera within a cell phone.

Raiding of cabins, or disturbing the personal property of others

Littering of the campgrounds

Food and drinks in the cabins

Any display of affection beyond holding hands

Motor boating or any other loud activity on or near the lake before 7:00 a.m. or after 10:00 p.m. This protects

the privacy of other property owners.

Coming to camp without prior approval from the Camp Director, including parents or other visitors.
